Overview · what is a private cloud?

The flexibility of cloud, on servers nobody else touches.

A private cloud is a cloud platform built for one organisation. You get self-service virtual machines, snapshots, templates and private networks — the parts of cloud people like — but the physical servers, storage and network switches are dedicated to you. No other customer's workload shares your CPUs, memory or disks.

XcellHost builds it as a cluster of three or more dedicated nodes in our Tier IV data centre in Mumbai, with the hypervisor you choose, storage replicated across nodes and high availability switched on. We patch, monitor and back it up; you run your applications. Prices are a fixed monthly figure in INR, with a GST invoice — no per-hour meter and no egress surprises.

Works with VMware vSphere OpenStack Proxmox VE Ceph storage Kubernetes Terraform Windows Server RHEL & Linux
    Who it's for

Built for teams that have outgrown a few VMs — or a server room.

    Regulated businesses

Banks, NBFCs, insurers, brokers and hospitals that must keep data in India and show auditors exactly where it lives.

    Server-room refugees

Firms with ageing on-premises hardware, AMCs running out and no appetite for another capital purchase.

    Steady, heavy workloads

ERP, databases, VDI and line-of-business apps that run 24×7 and cost more on a per-hour meter.

    SaaS & ISVs

Software companies that want predictable unit costs and single-tenant isolation to offer their own enterprise customers.

    What's included

Everything a cluster needs, already wired together.

Every dedicated private cloud ships with these layers. Hover a tile for what we do on it.

    01Dedicated compute nodes

Physical servers reserved for you — minimum three for quorum and failover.

We rack, burn-in test and replace failed parts.
    02Hypervisor of your choice

VMware vSphere, OpenStack or Proxmox VE, installed and clustered.

We patch and upgrade it in agreed windows.
    03Software-defined storage

NVMe disks pooled across nodes, each block kept as multiple copies.

We watch disk health and rebuild after a failure.
    04High availability

If a node stops, its VMs restart on the others automatically.

    We test failover during onboarding.
    05Private networks & firewall

VLANs or overlay networks per environment, with a perimeter firewall.

We build the rules from your application map.
    06Self-service portal & API

Create VMs, snapshots and templates yourself; automate with Terraform.

We set up roles so teams see only their projects.
    07Backup & DR options

VM backups offsite and optional replication to a partner data centre*.

    We run automated restore checks.
    08Encryption

AES-256 volume encryption at rest and TLS 1.3 for management traffic.

Keys are scoped to you and rotated annually.
    How it works · architecture

From your office to your VMs, every hop is yours.

Follow the packet. Users reach the cluster over the internet, a site-to-site VPN or a dedicated link; the firewall passes them to your private network; the hypervisor runs the VM; storage keeps three copies; backup copies leave the building.

    01 · Connect

Internet with DDoS filtering, IPsec site-to-site VPN, or a dedicated link from your office.

    02 · Filter

Perimeter firewall and per-network rules decide what may talk to what.

    03 · Run

Your VMs on dedicated nodes; if one fails, HA restarts its VMs on the others.

    04 · Store & protect

Each write kept as three copies across nodes; backups copied out of the cluster.

    Deployment & locations

    Security & India compliance

    SECURITY & COMPLIANCE

Single tenancy answers the first audit question: "who else is on this server?"

No product makes you compliant by itself. A dedicated cluster in India, with logs and controls you can evidence, helps you meet these obligations.

    CERT-In log retention

CERT-In's April 2022 directions ask organisations to keep ICT system logs for 180 days within India and to report notified cyber incidents within 6 hours. We keep cluster, firewall and access logs in India and our SOC helps you prepare the report.

AES-256 at restTLS 1.3 in transitCertified erasure on exit
    DPDP Act 2023

Asks data fiduciaries for reasonable security safeguards and prompt breach intimation. Dedicated hardware, encryption and access logging are safeguards you can document.

    RBI · SEBI · IRDAI

Sector rules expect regulated entities to keep certain data in India and to control outsourced IT. Your data stays in our Mumbai facility unless you choose a DR site.

    MeitY empanelment

XcellHost is MeitY empanelled — relevant for government and PSU buyers procuring cloud services.

    Certified operations

ISO 9001, 27001, 27017, 27018 and 20000-1, plus SOC 2 Type I & II. We share certificates and reports with your auditors on request.

    Use cases by industry

Same cluster, different reasons to want one.

Core systems that must stay in India

Loan management, core banking add-ons, trading back-office and CRM run on a cluster no other tenant shares, with logs retained in India and access you can show the auditor.

    • Data in Mumbai, DR at a partner site*
    • Privileged-access and firewall logs kept
    • Evidence pack for IT and outsourcing audits

    Hospital information and imaging systems

HIS, LIS and PACS need steady performance and lots of storage. Patient data stays on dedicated hardware, with backups you can actually restore.

    • Large replicated storage pools
    • Tested restore of critical VMs
    • Encrypted volumes for health records

    ERP, MES and plant data

Move ERP and plant applications off ageing on-site servers. Plants connect over VPN or a dedicated link; the cluster keeps running when one server fails.

    • Site-to-site VPN per plant
    • No more server-room AMCs
    • Maintenance in agreed windows

    Departments, PSUs and their vendors

Citizen portals and internal systems hosted by a MeitY-empanelled provider, on dedicated infrastructure in India.

    Frequently Asked Questions

The physical servers (nodes), their disks and the storage pool are reserved for you alone. Your VMs never share CPU, memory or disks with another XcellHost customer. Shared facility items — power, cooling, the building and upstream internet — are common, as in any data centre.

Three nodes let the cluster keep a majority vote (quorum) when one node fails, keep three copies of storage on separate servers and restart a failed node's VMs on the other two. Fewer nodes can't do all three safely.

VMware suits teams already trained on vSphere or running software certified on it. OpenStack suits teams that want multi-project self-service and API-first automation. Proxmox VE is a lean open-source option with built-in clustering and Ceph storage. The platform chooser gives a starting point.

VMware is now sold on per-core subscription terms set by Broadcom. You can bring eligible licences you already own, or we quote a subscription. It isn't included in the indicative prices on this page.

High availability restarts that node's VMs on the remaining nodes — usually within minutes, as a restart rather than a seamless move. Our NOC is alerted, replaces the failed part and rejoins the node. With the N+1 option in the sizer there is always room for this.

In XcellHost's Tier IV data centre in Mumbai, India. It only leaves if you ask for a DR site or offsite backups, which use partner data centres* that we name in your contract.

It helps you meet them: data and logs stay in India, logs can be kept 180 days or longer, access is logged, and our SOC supports the 6-hour CERT-In incident report. Compliance also depends on your own applications, policies and processes.

Yes. Add nodes one at a time at ₹17,999 a month each*; we join them and rebalance workloads. Removing nodes is possible down to three, subject to the notice period in your agreement.

You get full administrative access to your VMs, networks and the self-service portal. Hypervisor host access is shared under an agreed change process so that our NOC can keep the cluster supported and patched.

It depends on hardware availability and how much you are migrating. We confirm a build date on the quotation; migrations are scheduled after a rehearsal.

Storage replication protects against a failed disk or node, not against deletion or ransomware. Add VM backups — for example Acronis cloud backup — and, for site-level DR, replication to a partner data centre* with a tested runbook.

We export your VMs in a standard format, hand over the data, then securely erase the disks and give you a certificate of erasure.
